Appearing in the early thirties of the twentieth century, the electric guitar instantly gained widespread popularity, starting its march around the world as the main solo instrument of most vocal and instrumental ensembles. The principle of sound extraction in an electric guitar is based on the direct conversion of vibrations of metal strings into an electrical signal. This conversion is done by pickups. To improve the sound of the instrument, sometimes it is necessary to replace the pickup with a more sensitive or high quality one.

Instructions
Step 1
Remove the strings from the electric guitar. Perform a consistent uniform release of tension on all strings by rotating the tuning pegs. When it is sufficiently lowered and the load on the fretboard has been relieved, fully wind each string and remove it from the tuner hole, and then from the fastener located behind the saddle. Be careful - twisting into a spiral, the end of the string can injure your hands.
Step 2
Remove the top plastic trim from the guitar body. If the pins of the tone and volume control resistors pass through it, first remove their knobs (in case the resistors are attached to the case, and not to the overlay). Also check to see if the pickup cover (if any) will interfere with disassembly and, if so, remove it. Unscrew the screws securing the trim to the guitar body. Try to remove it. If adjusting resistors or switches are attached to the trim, wired to the housing, remove them first.
Step 3
Remove the old cartridge. Determine where it is connected to the electrical circuits mounted in the body of the electric guitar. Tap off the required wires. Remove the cartridge from the body. It is often attached to special hairpins. In this case, it is enough to unscrew the fixing nuts for dismantling. Sometimes fastening is done with screws. In this case, simply unscrew them from the case.
Step 4
Install the new cartridge in place of the old one. Attach it to the guitar body using your existing mounting system or your own. Solder the winding output wires of the new cartridge to those points on the circuitry where the wires of the previous device were disconnected from.
Step 5
Close the body of the guitar. Replace the plastic cover and secure it with screws.
Step 6
Install the strings. Insert them sequentially into the fastening device behind the saddle, into the holes of the corresponding pegs, and provide them with a slight tension. Then stretch the strings fully and tune the guitar.
