Making jewelry out of polymer clay can not only captivate you, but also be a very rewarding hobby. Original beads, earrings, bracelets will enrich your wardrobe and will be a pleasant gift for your friends for the holidays. The material for crafts itself is divided into two large types - baked plastic and air-solidified. If you want to make beads using a simplified technology, work with self-hardening plastic.
It is necessary
- - polymer clay;
- - rolling pin;
- - latex gloves;
- - board for rolling out plastic;
- - toothpicks;
- - scalpel or blade;
- - ribbon or lace.
Instructions
Step 1
The first stage is the manufacture of an interestingly colored plastic cylinder. It can be rolled in several ways. Try different ones and find the one that works best for you.
Step 2
The first way. Cut the plastic of different colors into the same large cubes. Connect them together in one layer and remember a little with your hands so that the polymer clay heats up, otherwise it will crack when rolling. Place the plastic on a flat, preferably glass surface. You can use a silicone mat to roll out. Take a smooth rolling pin or glass bottle. Roll the clay several times. Fold it up and walk again with the rolling pin. You should have a thin polymer layer with a smooth transition from one color to another. Take white polymer clay and roll it into a thin layer. Apply this layer to the rainbow one and roll up a tight roll. Put on rubber gloves and roll it around with your hands to seal it. There should be no air left between the layers. This blank for beads is ready.
Step 3
Second way. Put on gloves and roll several long strands of different colors from polymer clay in your hands. Fold them together and crush, twist, fold as you think. Then you can immediately form a cylinder from the workpiece, or you can roll it into a thin layer and roll it up with a roll. But the roll will need to be compacted.
Step 4
Make a base for the round beads. Take a piece of plastic, pinch off and roll balls of the required size from it. You can cut polymer clay into small pieces, and already form a round base from them.
Step 5
Cut thin slices from a colored sausage prepared in any way with a razor or scalpel. Stick them onto the base. One ball can take one or two circles. Form even, smooth beads.
Step 6
Poke holes in the beads with a toothpick or knitting needle. If the plastic is very soft and wrinkles when pierced, then leave the beads to freeze completely. Then drill the holes with a drill.
Step 7
Let the beads air harden. Then thread a ribbon or lace through the holes. Your beads are ready.
