The underwater world has always attracted artists. Bright fish, bizarre seaweed, wonderful stones awaken the imagination. Even a novice artist can draw an aquarium with a pencil.
It's just a ball
Aquariums come in different shapes. It can be a cube, parallelepiped or a ball, so first you need to learn how to draw the corresponding geometric body. Start a phased sketch by drawing a ball. The sheet can be laid both vertically and horizontally.
Draw a horizontal line. It denotes the surface of the table, which you do not need to draw. The line is needed just in order to be guided by the plane of the sheet. Draw a circle so that one of the points touches this line. You have the base for the aquarium ready.
To draw a cubic aquarium, you need to know the elementary laws of perspective. The front wall is a square, the side and top are parallelepipeds.
Cut off the top plane carefully
The ball you drew, of course, should have a hole on top. Imagine that part of the sphere is cut off by a transparent plane - for example, glass. If this plane is at your eye level, it appears to be just a strip. Looking at it from above or below, you will see an oval. Use a hard pencil to draw the inner outline. It is needed in order to convey the thickness of the walls. Do not forget to outline the inner contour of the upper oval as well.
The aquarium can be with a lid, but first you still need to draw a slice.
Aquarium and its inhabitants
The aquarium world seems a little twisted due to what is behind the convex glass. Fish look fatter than they are, algae look more curved, and rocks flatter. There is usually a layer of sand at the bottom of the aquarium. It is also better to portray the underwater world in stages.
Mark the thickness of the soil. Draw some stones - they can be just ovals or circles. Algae can be marked with smooth curved lines going from the bottom to the upper oval. The line configuration can be the most bizarre.
Populate your aquarium - draw one or two fish with bushy tails and large fins. However, a whole flock of small fish can live in a round aquarium - they can be depicted with ovals or long strokes.
Give shape
Draw algae, fish and stones with a soft pencil, and apply shading with a hard one. Start from the bottom. To make the aquarium appear really round, stroke in different directions - horizontal, then at an angle. Apply arcuate strokes to the back of the aquarium.
As for the front wall, its convex shape is best conveyed with strokes parallel to the side lines. At the contours, the lines are denser, in the middle there are almost no lines. Even if you apply strokes in several layers, they should not obscure the contours of algae, stones and fish. Your drawing is ready.
