One of the fabulous symbols of Christmas loved by children and adults around the world is the Christmas elf. Despite the fact that elves are fairy-tale characters, you can please yourself and your children with self-made elves who will stay with you for many years and will attract the attention of your family.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose bright festive fabrics for your elves. Find a pattern or draw one yourself. Cut out the pieces from the fabric and prepare the filler (for example, synthetic winterizer). When cutting fabric from a pattern, remember to add seam allowances to help make the dolls look neat.
Step 2
You can stuff elves with anything - padding polyester, cotton wool, wool, cotton, scraps of fabric and yarn, and even small groats - dolls stuffed with rice or peas perfectly develop the motor activity of children and are anti-stress.
Step 3
After cutting out the fabric pieces, hand sweep the front and back of the doll together. Then sew the halves of the arms and legs, twist and fill them with filler. Place your arms and legs on the elf's torso to determine where they will be located.
Step 4
Sew the arms and legs to the torso from the inside of the front and back of the elf's torso, with the right sides facing each other. Then sew the torso and turn it inside out - with the arms and legs already sewn.
Step 5
Stuff the elf with filler through the hole in the lower torso, then close and sew the hole by hand with a blind stitch.
Step 6
Embroider the eyes of the elves with beads or threads. If you like, sew a nose or mouth to the elf's face as well. Decorate the doll with buttons, bows and other accessories - for example, sew a pocket for a small gift to the elf's hat or body, and sew a tassel or bell to the cap. Your Christmas elf is ready! You can give it to your kids or friends for the Christmas holidays.
