Sports pants are needed for sports, jogging or outdoor activities. You can make them yourself if you have the simplest cutting and sewing skills. To simplify work and make trousers comfortable, you do not need to sew in pockets, do not decorate them with stripes and other elements.

It is necessary

  • - the cloth;
  • - sewing accessories.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose a fabric that is soft and stretchy - cotton jersey that stretches but does not stretch and retains its shape is best. Prepare a lace that will be threaded into the drawstring on the belt, scissors, threads.

Step 2

Prepare a pattern for the legs - draw it yourself, schematically, taking into account all sizes and not forgetting to make allowances for the seams. You will need your waist, hips, waist to crotch, two lengths (side length from waistband to ankle, inner length from crotch to ankle).

Step 3

Build the pattern on a large, life-size piece of paper. The sides of the sweatpants will be solid, without seams.

Step 4

The second option for cutting is to make a pattern for other pants that you wear or have worn. Just add a few centimeters to the hem and the one-piece waistband.

Step 5

Sweep the details of the trousers. Place the pant legs facing each other and finish the seams. Try on the pants, checking how closely they fit your figure.

Step 6

Sew the pants. Sew the basted seams, remove the auxiliary threads, overlock the seams. Processing of seams is necessary, as the jersey can "creep" during the process of wearing.

Step 7

Finish the bottom of the pants. Sew the edges first with an overlock, then fold over and sew with a regular stitch.

Step 8

Make a belt. Overlock the edges. Then sew on the piece to form a drawstring - a strip of the same fabric, but in a smaller size. Sew a strip around the edges, leaving room for the lace to be threaded. Or simply fold up the waistband and sew with two decorative stitches. Finish the lace holes.

Step 9

Prepare the lace. Since the trousers are sports, it is assumed that you will perform various movements in them, which means that the belt should also be elastic and stretch well. You can use a wide elastic band instead of a lace. Or make a stretching lace yourself by sewing in a rubber strip in the middle.

Step 10

Pass the lace into the drawstring, tie knots at its ends. Sweatpants are ready.
