The production of films is surrounded by an aura of cinematic romance, but in fact the process is very laborious, requiring perseverance, patience - and talent, I guess. The film is the same text, only it is much more difficult to "write" it. Therefore, you have to sweat a lot.
Instructions
Step 1
First, decide on the theme and main idea of your future creation. Here you can't just pick up a camera and start filming (this way you could start working with a documentary, capturing the events themselves on film and only after that start processing the video materials). You decided to shoot a feature film, that is, you need to write a script, develop a filming plan, select actors and choose a location where the filming will take place - and all this taking into account the main idea.
Step 2
Pay particular attention to your choice of actors. They must, firstly, cope well with their duties, that is, have certain abilities and a certain idea of the acting profession, and secondly, they must understand well what kind of image you are trying to create. They should definitely read the entire script, not just their role, they should also be aware of other characters, even those with whom their own character does not come into contact. The approach to the future film should be holistic, not only for you as a director, but for your actors as well.
Step 3
Think carefully about where you will shoot the film and on what equipment. If you are a beginner, now you have in your hands an ordinary digital camera, which you can buy at an electronics store for little money. Don't expect a stunningly beautiful movie with a camera like this. On the other hand, take care of whether you will somehow process the film on a computer - not glue it into a single whole (for this you will probably need a special computer program), namely, change the picture quality, color gamut, and so on. As you can see, to make a film, you also need to be a good organizer, and not just an inspired genius. And do not hope that you will be able to shift all the fuss on the shoulders of other people. Most likely, you will have to deal with all this.
Step 4
Even the footage for a documentary film is very difficult to process, let alone a feature film! After all, before processing the video, you have to work with the actors, work on the frame, staging, organization, and so on. Therefore, get ready for difficulties and, if this is your first experience, do not exacerbate these difficulties by taking on an exorbitant volume or plot complexity. You can't do a western with horses, trains and saloons. So far you have just entered the thorny path. But remember: through hardships to the stars. Who knows, maybe your name will soon be listed among the participants of the film festival?..
