The Minotaur is a character in Greek mythology - half bull, half human. He was born by Pasiphae, the wife of King Minos, from the messenger of Poseidon, a white bull. The head, tail and legs of the monster are bulls, and the body and arms are human. This is a warlike character with a sinister expression on the muzzle, menacing horns, a massive muscular body and powerful legs with wide hooves. The lower part of the Minotaur's body, neck and head are covered with coarse hair. He is often depicted with elements of military equipment - melee weapons, a shield, etc.
It is necessary
- - drawing paper;
- - pencil, eraser;
- - paints (gouache or acrylic).
Instructions
Step 1
Place the leaf vertically as the Minotaur walks on its feet. Think about the pose in which the monster will be depicted. Draw a light centerline to convey the movement and direction of the figure from head to hooves. Mark with transverse lines the lines of the shoulders and pelvis.
Step 2
The proportions of the Minotaur are about the same as that of a human, but it has a more massive head and a wide bullish neck. Elongated arms with overdeveloped muscles give his image of belligerence.
Step 3
Sketch out the main parts of the Minotaur figure. Draw a circle at the top of the line - the head. Its height is 1/8 the height of the monster. Draw a rounded rectangle to the lower half of the circle - the base of the wide nose of the bull's muzzle, and also mark the line of the massive lower jaw. Draw two arcs from the head to both sides - sketchy horns.
Step 4
Below, in the chest area, draw a large circle - the ribcage should be very wide. Below it, place two circles, one above the other, about half the size - this is the base of the lower torso and pelvis.
Step 5
Draw bicep circles on the sides of the large circle. With the lines coming out of these circles, depict the positions of both hands of the Minotaur. Mark the folds of the elbows with small circles, and the massive hands with rounded squares.
Step 6
From the lower circle, which schematically depicts the pelvis, draw the lines of the legs of the mythological man-bull. His knee joints have a complex double shape: at first the leg goes like a human and goes into a normal knee, but then there is a "break" and then the legs are bent back, like in bulls, as if forming a second, bovine, knee. Draw them schematically in the form of a zigzag "lightning". Draw circles on its three bends, which are necessary for further drawing the shapes of the Minotaur's body. End the leg line with two wide trapeziums - schematic hooves, thanks to which the monster is very stable on its feet.
Step 7
Drawing on the drawn diagram and its anchor points, draw the shape of the Minotaur. With additional lines, add details: features of the muzzle, fingers on the hands, cloven hooves, lines of developed muscles, elements of equipment. Erase unnecessary lines with the eraser.
Step 8
Finally, add a woolly texture to the nape, neck, chin, lower legs. Draw in more subtle details of the image. Color the Minotaur using dark skin and black or brown fur.
