In many creative pursuits, the craftsman requires tools that are not easy to find in stores - for example, molds for casting from plaster or any other materials. Craftsmen require a wide variety of forms, and they do not always understand where to get them. Nevertheless, there is a technology that allows you to independently make a simple flexible shape of any shape. The material for creating such forms is two-component silicone.

Instructions

Step 1

Buy silicone and a catalyst for it. After that, make a container into which you will pour the mixture from any durable impervious material using glue, or take some ready-made form.

Step 2

Place a layer of special sculptural non-hardening plasticine in the container so that the plasticine fills it halfway.

Step 3

Smooth the surface of the clay and then place the model you want to cast on it. Do not forget to pierce the plasticine in several places so that the form does not move.

Step 4

Pour something dry and small into the resulting plasticine mold to measure the volume of the mold. After filling the form with bulk material, pour it into a measuring container to calculate the required volume in grams.

Step 5

Lubricate the surface of the model with soapy water, wax or grease. After that, after carefully reading the instructions, combine both components of the silicone mass in the required proportions, and pour the resulting mixture in a thin stream into the mold along the edges of the sides.

Step 6

After the sidewalls of the mold have hardened, remove the plasticine and lubricate both the model and the mold again.

Step 7

Prepare a silicone mixture and pour it into the mold with the model placed in it. It remains to wait until the silicone is completely dry and solidified.

Step 8

After that, open the mold, remove the model from it and reconnect the edges of the mold with paraffin, plaster, resin or paraffin.

Step 9

To make your mold last long and efficiently, remember not to stretch it too much, twist it, fold it in half, or break it with cutting objects. Treat your form with care.
