Knitting of any thing starts with a set of loops. The loops you have made should be loose so that you can easily knit the first row. One of the tricks of knitters is that they cast on two knitting needles, so the dialed loops are free and not tied. Loops can be typed in several ways. Decide which method will be convenient for you. To practice the buttonhole set, you will need a small ball of yarn and knitting needles. Follow our step by step instructions.
Instructions
Step 1
Run the thread around your left thumb and forefinger (if you are right-handed). Insert a knitting needle into the loop on your thumb and grab the thread on your index finger. Draw the caught thread through the loop at your thumb. Now drop the loop from your thumb and tighten it over the knitting needle. Cast on as many loops as you need in this way. The first loop has been dialed!
Step 2
The following way to set loops:
Place the thread around your thumb and forefinger. Grasp the thread between your thumb and forefinger with a knitting needle. Pull the grabbed thread so that it intersects with the thread that comes from the thumb. Now pull the thread through the loop from your thumb. Remove your thumb from the loop and tighten the resulting loop on the knitting needle.
Step 3
There is also a so-called simple set of loops:
Cast on the first stitch as shown in step 1. Then thread the thread from your index finger in front of the knitting needle. Draw a knitting needle under the thread and grab the thread from your index finger with it.
Step 4
There is also a double set of loops. Such loops are used mainly for knitting elastic bands:
Cast on a simple starter stitch as in step 1. Next stitch: Use a knitting needle to grab the thread on your index finger and pull it under the buttonhole on your thumb. Third st: Insert the needle into the thumb loop from bottom to top. Grab the thread from your index finger and pull out the loop. Now drop the loop from your thumb and tighten it over the knitting needle.
Step 5
And here is how the loops for knitting in a circle are recruited. To do this, you need five knitting needles.
Cast on simple loops (step 1) on 2 knitting needles. Free the required number of stitches from the second knitting needle. Continue to cast on 3 and 4 knitting needles. Also free the required number of stitches from the fourth knitting needle. Thus, the first pair of knitting needles should be in your right hand, and the second, respectively, in your left. After knitting 3 rows, you will see that the last 2 loops of the fourth knitting needle are back on the first knitting needle.
The loops are dialed, now you can start knitting directly!
