In order to reduce the loops during the knitting process, you can use not only traditional methods. There are several options in which a decrease in the number of loops will not only fulfill its primary purpose - its result can become an element of the decor of a knitted product.
It is necessary
- - threads;
- - knitting needles;
- - hook.
Instructions
Step 1
It all depends on the number of loops that need to be reduced at a certain interval of the canvas. Before trying to apply the reduction technique on the main piece, try it on the reference. Cast on 20 stitches on the needles and knit 10 rows in the intended pattern, for example, with the front stitch. Now you can experiment with different options.
Step 2
Side down Remove the first stitch, starting at the front. Then knit 2 stitches together with the front one, then continue to knit with the front stitch. Knit purl row according to the figure. Along the edge, you can reduce any number of loops after a certain number of rows. If you need to reduce a lot of loops, do it from the desired edge, both from the front and the wrong side.
Step 3
Decrease in the middle Tie the swatch with the front stitch and mark the middle with a different color of string. Do the subtraction in the odd, which means, in the front rows. Remove first st and knit 7, then 2 stitches, 2 stitches, 2 stitches together, 8 stitches. Knit the reverse side according to the pattern, that is, with purl loops. Knit the next front row, like the first, taking into account that at the beginning there will now be 6 loops, and at the end - 7. Thus, with each odd row, the sample will decrease by 2 loops, and a beautiful two-loop groove will form in the middle, which will serve as a continuation the main picture. Similarly, you can make a similar decrease, leaving only one loop for the formation of a groove in the middle.
Step 4
Uniform decrease If you need to make an even decrease in loops, divide the main canvas into equal parts and make marks with threads of a contrasting color. At the markings, for example every 10 stitches, knit two stitches together. In order to correctly decrease the loops, it is better to practice on a sample, thanks to which the uniformity of the decrease and the smoothness of the canvas will be visible.
Step 5
To reduce the number of loops, to do this, knit the posts, but not in each loop of the previous row, but after 1-2. To make the product look perfect, it is advisable to experiment with the pattern, since the result depends on the thickness of the yarn and the size of the hook, as well as on the density of the knitting.
