Cameos have long been highly prized by lovers of fine jewelry - stone bas-relief looks elegant in jewelry, giving your look a classic style. It is not difficult to make a piece of jewelry with a cameo with your own hands if you know the technique of working with polymer clay. A finished cameo made of hardened plastic will be no different from a real one, and to make it you will need a relief surface from which you will make a stamp on the plastic. Find a suitable relief shape in advance that you want to transfer to the cameo.

Instructions

Step 1

In addition to the shape, you will need a brush, powder, a sharp knife, and white and dark polymer plastic. Take a piece of dark plastic and press firmly against the relief you want to recreate on the jewelry. Remove the plastic carefully from the mold and bake. Let the stamp cool down and cover it with a thick layer of powder from the inside.

Step 2

Roll a piece of white plastic into a thin cake and attach to the stamp. Place a small piece of dark plastic on top and press down firmly. Then press down on the back of the plastic to form a flat surface.

Step 3

Remove the plastic from the stamp and make sure the black is printed well on the embossing. If the black color does not print, place the plastic back into the mold and work on the blank by applying a little more black plastic and pushing even harder.

Step 4

Having received the final option that suits you, free the workpiece from the stamp, and then carefully cut off the excess edges with a knife. Align the edges and decorate them with a beautiful filigree or carved frame, sculpted and decorated separately from the cameo.

Step 5

After baking, coat the surface of the cameo with pearl powder to give the black color a silvery tint. You can also make a cameo out of pure white plastic by applying a simple matte powder to it.
