The collar "yoke" has not gone out of fashion for many decades. It originates from a stand-up collar. This collar can be of different shapes and sizes. It can fall freely on the shoulders or almost hug the neck. It can be part of a sweater or dress, or it can exist separately, like a shirt-front, which, if necessary, turns into a headdress.
Instructions
Step 1
Refine the pattern. Draw a rounded line parallel to the neckline, but 5-7 cm away from it. Count the rows based on the changed pattern.
Step 2
When knitting a sweater from separate parts, tie the shelf to the end, but do not close the loops, but remove it with an additional thread. Do the same with the back. When all the details of the sweater are ready, cast on the removed loops on the circular knitting needles. The thread on which you removed the loops of the last row must be pulled out.
Step 3
Knit in a circle with an English elastic or garter stitch 18 - 35 cm, depending on how much collar you want. Close the hinges.
Step 4
There is another way to knit such a collar. Calculate the number of loops needed for the collar height you want. Type on the needles the required number of loops and knit a rectangle to a length equal to the volume of the neck on the modified pattern. Close the loops and sew.
