Harness patterns are often used when knitting jumpers, sweaters, jackets. Such patterns not only decorate the product, but also make it warmer. There are many options for beautiful harnesses, obtained by various combinations of types of knitting.
It is necessary
- - a set of 2 main spokes;
- - auxiliary spoke with pointed ends;
- - pin;
- - yarn.
Instructions
Step 1
Change the order of the stitches in the row. The basic rule for obtaining a tourniquet is crossing the loops of the knitted fabric. Swap stitches when knitting. Remove, for example, the first 5 stitches of the fabric on an auxiliary knitting needle or pin and place this knitting needle before knitting. First knit the remaining loops of the fabric with the front one, and then return to the loops on the auxiliary knitting needle and knit each loop with the front one. In this case, the tourniquet on the canvas will be displaced diagonally to the right. The auxiliary spoke remains free and will be used for the next harness.
Step 2
Depending on the pattern, then knit the bundle offset to the left. The work sequence is the same as when knitting 1 harness, but now the auxiliary knitting needle with loops is placed behind the knitting fabric. In this case, the harness on the canvas will be displaced diagonally to the left. You can get a tourniquet of different shapes: oblong or short. Its shape depends on the size of the interval of movement of the loops or on how many rows of knitting the next movement of the loops will be. Slight movement of the loops gives the garment a soft feel. Frequent movement of the loops will make the product thicker and warmer.
Step 3
A simple example is knitting a Double Braid pattern. Cast on 22 loops on the needles, taking into account the outer loops. Knit 1 row of loops with knit stitches, 2 row with purl. In the third row, remove 5 loops on an additional knitting needle, placing it at work; knit the next 5 stitches, then knit 5 stitches from an additional knitting needle. Next, remove 5 more loops on the additional knitting needle, placing it in front of work, knit the next 5 loops, and then sew 5 loops from the additional knitting needle. In the fourth row, knit all the loops with purl, and from row 5 to row 12, repeat rows 1 and 2 four times.
