With a certain level of knitting machine proficiency, you can create exclusive products. Machine knitwear is distinguished by a particularly dense structure, smoothness of the fabric and clear lines of cut details. However, an inexperienced knitter may have some difficulty in making patterns. For example, when knitting braids, you need to rearrange the loops from place to place. The machine does not have a special function of this kind, so you need to master some methods of embossed binding.
It is necessary
- - waste thread;
- - working thread;
- - knitting machine;
- - 1-2 decker.
Instructions
Step 1
Tie the fabric with an auxiliary (waste) thread to the beginning of the braid and turn on the partial knitting mode. This technique will allow you to bring some of the needles to an inoperative state, then back to working, and to tie on the desired section of the canvas.
Step 2
Insert working yarn (soft but fairly thick) and work through the first half of the braid. After that, it is necessary to set the needles in the front non-working position (in the manuals for machine knitting, this is referred to as PNP). The exception is 12 working needles from the left edge.
Step 3
Run 12 rows (carriage on the left) and put 6 more needles into operation. The row should be knit to the right. Now 18 needles are involved in your work.
Step 4
Remove the 6 left-most needles from work (carriage on the right) and knit the next 11 rows.
Step 5
When you knit the fabric to the final 12 needles, you need to make 12 rows and turn off the partial knit mode. Be sure to complete two pairs of smoothing rows.
Step 6
Continue to machine the second part of the braid according to the pattern, but proceed in the reverse order:
- all needles are exposed in the PNP (now the exception is 12 loops from the right edge, the carriage is located on the right);
- 12 rows are knitted;
- 6 needles are included in the work on the left side (carriage - on the right), then a row is knitted;
- 6 needles on the right side are removed from the working position (carriage on the left), 11 rows are knitted.
Step 7
Continue to machine the braids according to the pattern. Do not forget, after knitting the relief, to make two pairs of smoothing rows on all needles. Finish the work with an auxiliary thread, and close the last row with it.
Step 8
You can also knit a braid on a typewriter using a special tool - a decker, which allows you to move the loops in the desired sequence. Try to add extra length to the loops first with dropped yarn overs.
Step 9
Practice on a sample of ten stitches (purl 2, knit 6 and purl 2 more). Calculate where the braids will be bound and extend the extra needles.
Step 10
Knit yarns on the extended needles and push them in - the loops stretch out. Use two deckers to interlace the loops of the braid and transfer them to the needles.
