Knitting a snood with a braid on the background of a garter stitch
A double-sided "braid" will look the same on both sides of the product, and the snood can be worn in two or three turns. The pattern is based on a sequential overlap (weave) of relief stripes. The simplest, neatly knitted, single-braid snood scarf, combined with a simple fabric texture, will look extremely elegant.
It is recommended to knit a snood with garter stitch (only facial loops), in the center, make a plait-plait based on a 2x2 elastic band (2 facial - two purl). The product is almost dimensionless, the length can be adjusted at your discretion.
The first ten loops of the first row of the canvas are made with garter stitch, then the loops for the braid are knitted:
- 2x2 alternations are repeated 6 times;
- the row ends with two dozen garter stitches;
- in the second row, you need to complete 20 garter stitches;
- repeat the 2x2 alternations 6 times;
- finish 10 last stitches with garter stitch.
Next, you should repeat the alternations 6 times, as in the first and second rows, and then overlap the braids:

- knit 2 knit and 2 purl 3 times;
- knit the removed loops;
- repeat the alternation 2x2 again 3 times;
- residual 20 loops - garter stitch.
Next, knitting the snood is repeated according to the finished pattern. Overlaps of the "braid" pattern are made sequentially until the product reaches the desired length. It remains to sew the narrow edges of the tube scarf.
Snood scarf with voluminous braids
Try to knit snood with braids without an auxiliary knitting needle. You can cope with this work quickly, while a scarf that is small in length turns out to be elegant, spectacular, and can be worn in one turn. Bulky pigtails will be formed after knitting the cloth, from thin strips of the purl surface against the background of garter knitting.
The product is almost dimensionless; you can adjust the length of the knitted part by fitting it in. For a scarf-pipe, it is enough to dial 58 loops and knit a fabric with periodic closing and adding loops. The sequence of work is as follows:
- in the first row, 6 loops are knitted with the front ones, 20 - with the wrong ones, again 6 with the front ones, 20 with the wrong ones and 6 with the front ones;
- the next row is performed with the front ones;
- the fabric is knitted according to the specified pattern up to 7 rows, in which between the stripes of garter stitch, 20 purl loops are closed 2 times;
- in the next row, above the closed thread arches, a similar number of new loops is typed and the knitting of the snare continues until it reaches the required length.
Next, a volumetric braid is formed. To do this, the bottom strip of the purl surface is crossed, a loop is folded from it and put on the same upper loop. The subsequent formed bows are put on each other, the latter is sewn to the canvas. All that remains is to sew the edges of the finished snow. For better fixation of the tubular product, you can dial on the circular knitting needles loops from the top and bottom of the scarf and tie several rows of 2x2 elastic.
