The willow - a symbol of spring and fertility - embodies joy, continuity of life and health. It is possible to decorate your home with a twig that will never wither, if you weave it from beads, and ordinary cotton wool will give the flowers airiness.
What to make a willow twig
To weave a willow, take:
- white beads;
- thin wire or fishing line for beading;
- brown floss threads;
- clear nail polish;
- a brush;
- wire cutters.
Willow flowers will turn out more spectacular if you use several shades of white and light yellow for weaving. Prepare matte, pearlescent and clear beads.
How to make fluffy pussy willow flowers
Cut 21 pieces of wire, each 40 cm long. Take 3 pieces and fold them crosswise so that they resemble the rays of the sun. Twist the wire together in the center.
String 10 white beads on one end. In the same way, dial the same amount for all "rays".
Shake the cotton wool slightly so that it becomes soft and airy. Tear off a small piece, roll it into a ball and place it on the beads. Instead of cotton wool, you can use another white filler, for example, a synthetic winterizer.
Lift the wire, connect all the parts and twist the ends together under the cotton wool. This will create one fluffy pussy willow flower. Twist the wire to form a twig.
In the same way, make flowers from the rest of the pieces of wire, folding them in 3 pieces. There will be 7 flowers in total. If you want the willow twig to be more luxuriant, make more flowers.
How to collect a willow branch
Take 2 blanks, tie a floss under the flower. Begin wrapping the wire, placing the turns as close together as possible. Make turns at a distance of 1 - 1.5 cm from the bud. Take a second piece with a flower and attach it to the wire at a slight angle. Wrap the twig up to the main thread of the floss, and then all the wire, folded together. Place the rest of the beaded pussy willow flowers in a checkerboard pattern at a distance of 1, 5 - 2 cm from each other.
Trim all the pieces of wire and use a wire cutter to trim the bottom edge of the branch. Then wrap the wire to the end with brown floss, bartack and cut the thread. Hide the tail under the threads of the floss. Spread the willow flowers.
Coat the threads with PVA glue. Let them dry completely. To make the branch more effective, cover it with two coats of clear varnish, while each should dry well.
