For many, a wedding is almost the only opportunity to dress up in an exquisite fluffy dress and feel like a real princess at a festive ball. A snow-white outfit, accessories and, of course, wedding gloves miraculously turn Cinderella into a lady. Of course, this piece of clothing can be bought in a specialized salon or ordered by an experienced seamstress. However, making an outfit for yourself, or at least making elegant little things in the same style, is an incomparable pleasure.

It is necessary

  • - a working canvas to match the wedding dress;
  • - centimeter;
  • - paper;
  • - tailoring and manicure scissors;
  • - pencil;
  • - threads and needles;
  • - sewing machine;
  • - overlock;
  • - hat elastic or nylon tape;
  • - elastic thread and silicone tape (if necessary);
  • - decorative elements to taste (lace, trim, etc.).

Instructions

Step 1

Try using classic fine fabric gloves to match your wedding dress. Check if the working blade is flexible enough - it should stretch slightly between the fingers.

Step 2

First, make a pattern of wedding gloves. To simplify your task, you can use a ready-made old “sticky” glove. Gently spread it along the inner seams, redraw the details of the cut: the palm, the wedge of the thumb and the finger itself (for the right and left products).

Step 3

Carefully adjust the pattern to make precise allowances for the freedom of the glove. Their value will depend on the thickness of the fingers. Usually it is enough to make an allowance of 1 cm from each edge of the part - 0.5 cm each for the freedom of fitting and for the connecting seams. An inexperienced seamstress is advised to manually sweep the layout of the future wedding glove out of a simple cheap fabric.

Step 4

When cutting gloves, check the cutting lines. If they are free-flowing, then all the edges must be processed immediately with an overlock or manually - with an overcasting seam. Place hand-held oblique threads close to one another; each stitch should be no more than 0.5 cm high.

Step 5

Start sweeping the details from the side seam on the little finger side, then the little finger itself, and beyond. Measure the unfinished garment and, if the basting is correct, sew a simple machine stitch along the connecting seam line. Then start sewing in the thumb pieces.

Step 6

Carefully so as not to damage the delicate working blade, remove the basting thread with nail scissors and turn the glove out.

Step 7

Decorate your wedding gloves to your liking. One of the simplest options is to sew lace tape along the edge of the sockets. A zigzag stitch is recommended. Top with satin braid in the same color.

Step 8

If you are not confident in your tailoring skills, choose a simplified version of wedding gloves - mitts. You will need two cut pieces in the shape of a rectangle with a small toe. Turn the top of the toe to the middle finger - a fixing loop made of a hat elastic will be strengthened on it.

Step 9

Measure the width of your arm from below the elbow to the wrist and the height of the toe from the wrist to the base of your middle finger. Open the mitts and sew the inner joining seam (overlock and straight stitch). If the fingerless gloves are made of lace, you can overlap the edges and sew them along the pattern.

Step 10

Trim the toe and all edges of the mitts with a thin bias tape of a suitable color and hand sew on the elastic loop - it will be put on the finger. If the fabric is elastic enough and holds well on the hand, then the wedding glove is ready. Otherwise, the upper edge of the product will have to be hemmed with an elastic thread in two layers.
