Blackout curtains can decorate a doorway, separate rooms from each other. Homemade curtains will help you quickly solve the problem of excessive transparency of the glass insert.
Roller blind on the door
You can sew roller blinds to close the transparent glass insert on the door. For the seamy side and the front side, it is best to take two pieces of thick fabric with a different pattern. Then, even with the light on in the room, nothing will be visible from the other side.
Prepare two wooden slats in advance with a length equal to the width of the doorway or slightly less. One block will be for fastening, and the second for weighting the curtains. You will also need ring screws, hook screws and a synthetic decorative cord.
Measure the length and width of the area to be covered and cut out the curtains from the fabric. Leave about 10 cm for the length and 3 cm for the width for the seam allowance. Sew the two wrong sides together, leave one end unstitched. Turn the curtain out, process the remaining edge, and iron the finished fabric.
Now you need to sew special pockets for the straps. Fold the edges of the curtain, from the bottom one and a half centimeters, from the top three, sew and insert the strips. Carefully screw the ring screws into the mount through the fabric.
Roller blinds are rolled up with a cord. You need two pieces, one should be three times the length of the curtain. The length of the second is three and a half times. Thread the laces into the screw rings. Tie the longest cord to the ring that is farthest from the common side screw. Run the ropes along the seamy side of the curtain, put the loan on the front side and again pass them through the rings. Now route the cords through the common side panel and tie together.
Screw the screws-hooks into the upper part of the door to fasten the strip with the curtain. The location of the hooks must match the location of the rings. Now you can hang the finished curtain. Screw another hook on the side, where you will wind the cord when the curtain is raised.
The curtain on the doorway is similar to the curtain on the window
You can sew the most common curtains for the doorway, which are usually hung on the windows. The easiest way to make a sliding curtain is like in a bathroom. Choose the fabric of the desired color and texture. Measure the width and length of the doorway, the curtain must be a few centimeters short of the floor or you might step on it. Cut a curtain from a roll of fabric, trim the edges for beauty with a border or bend to your taste.
Screw a single-row curtain of the desired length over the doorway. It can be much wider than the door if you want to close or decorate the walls beautifully. Hang the curtain over the rings. You can remove it on a special hook, hanging it with a twisted cord with heavy tassels.
