Making applications is a fun activity for both children and adults who teach them. But there are rules for each age. The applique can be made according to the pattern, or it can become an expression of the creative potential of the whole family. The application task must be accessible to the child, arouse interest, and satisfy the need for development. Applique work can be a decoration for any interior in the house.

It is necessary

  • - oilcloth;
  • - a brush for glue;
  • - napkin.

Instructions

Step 1

For children two to three years old, offer to perform the simplest applications with ready-made shapes. For example, provide a ready-made Christmas tree shape (possibly drawn on a piece of paper), and the child can glue colored circles on it, which can be called lights, flashlights, toys. In addition to colored paper, other materials are widely used, making the application voluminous, bright, unusual, which develops the imagination and creativity of even the smallest children. For example, pieces of cotton wool, symbolizing snow, can be glued to the tree and at its base. For gluing parts, such small children are given a paste made from ordinary flour for safety reasons, because kids taste everything.

Step 2

For children three to four years old, the applique task can be complicated by the fact that they themselves have to cut out simple details, for example, strips of grass or a path. If it does not work out very smoothly, then the application will only take on a more natural look: a winding path or grass of different sizes. Children of this age already use scissors, which should also be safe: with rounded ends and small in size. The paste can already be replaced with a glue stick or PVA glue. Hand training for the ability to cut can be continued outside of the applique class. Materials for application are becoming more diverse: seeds from any fruits and berries, sand, small pasta, pieces of fabric. Cotton wool can be laid in a certain shape (round, oblong) and colored. For example, a round ball of cotton wool dyed yellow can be used to make a chicken. The beak is cut out of paper or a sunflower seed is glued.

Step 3

Children of four to five years old can already, in addition to simple applique, make patterns that are initially modeled on an adult, and then, after completing 2-3 tasks, they can try to make a pattern on their own. Patterns well develop in the child spatial thinking and orientation on a sheet of paper. An adult explains in words how to fold the pattern. At first, the pattern is simply laid out on a piece of paper. As soon as all the elements of the composition are in place, you can glue it. The elements of the pattern can already be offered to cut out to the child: circles, squares, rhombuses, stripes. But the pattern requires a very clear cutting line, and for training, plot applications can also be used. For example, mushrooms. Their legs and caps can be large or small, straight or curved. And to master the requirements for patterns, you can stick tree leaves instead of paper.

Step 4

Children of five to six years old love to make applications based on the plots of fairy tales. To do this, after reading the fairy tale, first it is better to draw that plot situation that interested the child, and only then proceed to the application. Before the start of the application, you can also propose to mold with plasticine those characters that will be made, which gives the child an understanding of which parts the Snow Maiden or the fox will have to be made of. Often, applications for children become a mixed kind of creativity: drawing, gluing, and manual labor.
