Translation of pictures into plastic is one of the favorite techniques of hand-made craftswomen. After all, with the help of this, you can create things of amazing beauty, without even knowing how to draw. The transfer of drawings to plastic can be done before and after baking using pictures printed on a laser or inkjet printer. Various methods are used to transfer images of different quality.
It is necessary
- - drawing printed on a laser printer;
- - a drawing printed on an inkjet printer on matte photographic paper;
- - cotton wool;
- - formic alcohol;
- - tweezers;
- - decoupage glue or PVA glue.
Instructions
Step 1
Print your favorite picture on a laser printer using plain paper. It is best if the picture you have chosen is in vector format - this will significantly improve the print quality, but you can also take pictures in.
Step 2
Roll out the plastic and give the future product the desired shape. It is best if the drawing is slightly larger than the plastic - then the edges of the paper will not be visible on the finished product.
Step 3
Moisten a piece of cotton wool liberally with formic alcohol.
Step 4
Put the drawing with its right side on the plastic, pressing it with all force against the workpiece. Dampen the picture with rubbing alcohol. At the same time, the paper should be completely wet, but also should not float in formic alcohol.
Step 5
Remember how you pasted gum transfer tattoos as a child: moistened them with water and rubbed the image thoroughly, making sure that the picture still remained smooth. Pay special attention to the edges of the picture.
Step 6
Moisten the design again with water and rub it over. This procedure must be repeated two to three times.
Step 7
Wipe the remaining alcohol from the drawing with cotton wool and, armed with tweezers, carefully remove the paper from the plastic. Remember that you can only do this while the picture is still wet. Ideally, you should have a completely white sheet, and all the ink in the form of a drawing - on the plastic. The product can now be heat treated.
Step 8
If you do not have a laser printer, print your design using an inkjet printer using matte photo paper. Then cut out the picture and wet it. Now, as in decoupage, divide it into layers, leaving only one single layer to work on, on which the picture is located. Using special decoupage glue or ordinary PVA glue, glue the image to the plastic blank. Smooth out the design carefully so that there are no bubbles underneath and it is firmly attached. Now the products can be baked.
