Any novice artist is faced with drawing a still life. The ability to convey from nature the composition of objects, convey shadow and light, create a volumetric effect and determine where the light comes from, how to mark reflexes and shadows on still life objects - all these skills are necessary in order to paint in other genres in the future. You can try to draw from nature a small pear-shaped still life, choosing pastel or gouache as materials.
It is necessary
- - gouache,
- - pastel.
Instructions
Step 1
Sketch the outline of a pear with a ponytail on a piece of paper, and then draw yellow gouache on a brush and paint over the entire inner surface of the outline, trying to make strokes unevenly. Some fragments should remain white.
Step 2
Wait for the yellow layer to dry completely, and then take orange paint on the brush and paint over half of the pear with it, making the line between yellow and orange uneven and scattered - this will make the pear look more realistic.
Step 3
Mix orange and dark red on the palette to make it more saturated, and cover with this color orange paint layer, creating a small spot of color in the center of the pear. Then work through the areas of light and shadow, creating smooth transitions between dark and light shades of colors.
Step 4
Work the outlines of the pear with colored pencils, make small shading inside the orange surface and apply highlights with white gouache to create a voluminous and smooth surface of the drawing.
Step 5
You can also draw a pear without using paints - for this you need pastels of different colors and special pastel paper. Sketch out the outlines of one or more pears with pastels, and then apply the main tones with an edge of pastel crayons - for example, reds, yellows and olive.
Step 6
Draw the tail of each pear with dark crayons. Also, make sure to outline the correct shape of the pear - the elongated end should start from a spherical shape. At the junction of the ball with the elongated part, sketch out a large shadow, which will create a three-dimensional effect.
Step 7
Highlight the round highlight on the front of the pear. Paint the background with suitable colors, smoothing out the borders between the tones, and then, if you are painting with pastels, blend the hatching with your finger, creating a smooth surface of the painting.
