The English word bean-bag is applied to an outdoor cushion chair. Today, in many homes you can find this uncomplicated, but very cozy and cute armchair, shaped like a pear. In furniture stores, it is easy to pick up any type and size of such a chair, but it is much more pleasant to make a pear chair with your own hands.
It is necessary
- - pattern;
- - material for the outer cover;
- - material for the inner cover;
- - lightning;
- - polystyrene or other synthetic filler.
Instructions
Step 1
Sew the outer decorative cover. It can be made of any fabric or leatherette that is easy to find in a furniture fabric store. It can be sewn from an old, but still strong blanket or cape. You can have several types or textures, combining them to your liking. You can copy the pattern from this site:
Step 2
Pay more attention to the design of the cover, since the cover carries, first of all, an aesthetic load and the armchair must fit well into the interior. It's wise to have multiple covers for different rooms and change them to suit your mood. Interesting solutions for the nursery are a child's pear chair in the shape of a soccer ball, sewn from hexagonal fragments of two colors, or an armchair made of old denim trousers, with patch pockets, in which it is convenient to store remotes from various equipment. Nice and practical.
Step 3
Insert a zipper into each outer cover. This is for convenience.
Step 4
Sew the inner balloon. It is sewn from a dense, sturdy fabric according to the same patterns as the outer cover. Leave a hole for the filler unsewn in it.
Step 5
Fill the inner cylinder with filler. It can be polystyrene, styrofoam, expanded polystyrene. All this is the name of the same material. The inner case is filled through a homemade thick paper funnel. It takes 5 to 7 kg of filler to fill the case. Choose a filler from 0.5 cm to 1 cm in size. You can buy it in hardware or furniture stores, but buy with a margin, since polystyrene shrinks over time and the filling of the pear chair will need to be supplemented.
