To show the beauty of flowers, it is not necessary to depict a luxurious bouquet. One copy is enough and even a fragment of it - for example, a petal. Choose a wide, beautifully curved rose or peony petal. Paint it with acrylic or oil paints, simulating a silky surface and the play of light and shadow on it.

It is necessary

  • - drawing paper;
  • - the tablet;
  • - a set of acrylic paints;
  • - markers;
  • - brushes of different widths.

Instructions

Step 1

Attach white drawing paper to your tablet. When depicting a petal, you can do without a pencil sketch. Start painting with acrylics. In case of an error, an unsuccessful stroke can be masked by covering it with a white tone.

Step 2

Try drawing from life or from a photograph. Take a peony petal for the image. Carefully examine its structure, feel the play of light on the veins, the transitions of shades, the satin sheen of the petal surface.

Step 3

On a plastic palette, mix white and red paints for a pale pink tone. Add some water to make the colors more delicate and airy. Take a flat wide brush and outline the outline with thin strokes. Pay attention to the shape of the petal - in the peony it is very wide at the edge and tapers sharply towards the end.

Step 4

Paint on the brush with white paint and zig-zag the area at the root of the petal. Dry. Blend the shades to a deep pink tone and repeat the brush strokes over the white strokes. Take some water on it and drag over the drawing, blurring its outlines.

Step 5

Use a few lines of the dark pink paint to paint the veins of the petal. Take a thin brush, dip it in white paint and apply short strokes from the narrow end to the middle. Pick up a dark pink paint and outline the outlines of the petal, drawing its wide edge. On this part, the peony has small notches and tears.

Step 6

Dry the drawing. Mix gray and white paints, add water. Draw a light shadow inside the curve of the petal, with a darker shade outline the shadow under it. Moisten the brush with water and blend the darkening, making the shade even and soft. Let the drawing dry.

Step 7

Take a thin white felt-tip pen and outline the narrow edge of the petal. With the same felt-tip pen in a pink shade, circle its upper part, carefully tracing small notches along the edge. Dilute the white and yellow paints with a drop of gray, add water and paint the background with wide strokes, without touching the contours of the flower.
