Instructions
Step 1
Check out images of your favorite fairytale hero. Choose whether to draw from memory or make a copy from a picture. With a simple pencil, start sketching.
Step 2
In the process of sketching, draw all parts of the character's body in the form of geometric shapes. Start with the torso - draw in the form of an oval or rectangle. Then outline the head in a circle. With elongated ovals, mark the arms and legs of the fairytale hero. If you are drawing an animal, pay special attention to its limbs, characteristic bend.
Step 3
Once the shape is outlined, start sketching. For convenience, draw a vertical midline all over your body. With the help of it, you will place symmetrical parts of clothing, body (eyes, nose). Draw starting from the top of the figure. Outline the details of the clothing. Thin or thicken body parts where necessary. Little by little, introduce small details - eyes, mouth, nose, ears; indicate the hairstyle, elements of the costume.
Step 4
Use the eraser to erase unnecessary hidden lines. Start drawing small details. Specify the eyes of the character - where they are looking - and the expression on the face - smiling, angry, etc. On the clothes, mark folds, ruffles, ornaments - everything that adorns the costume. In animals, draw fur, tufts, swirls, brushes, color spots on the body, etc. Clean your work with an eraser. Paint the background as desired.
Step 5
Choose materials to work in color. Gouache and felt-tip pens are best suited because they give a rich color. Apply paint to the hero, starting from the top. If there is a background, lightly label it first. On the fairytale character, fill in the main color spots, only then add the shadow. After finishing work, you can trace the drawing with a thin black felt-tip pen or black helium pen.
