The events of 2010 will remain in the memory of the participants of the rock festival for a long time. About a hundred young people armed with reinforcing rods, baseball bats and traumatic weapons broke into the festival site (camp named after Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya) and began to beat the audience. Dozens of people were injured, the police were unable to stop the rioters. The rock festival was disrupted.

The investigation established that the instigator of the riots was a local businessman, cafe owner Robert Nazaryan. He had a conflict with the festival participants, and as a result, his revenge turned into a massacre. Nazaryan and twelve of the most active participants in the pogrom were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.

In 2011, the Tornado festival was not held, but in 2012 the city administration decided to revive it. Initially, it was planned to hold a rock festival in late August - early September, but difficulties arose with ensuring the safety of the participants, the interdepartmental commission did not agree to hold the event. The main reason for the refusal was the insufficient, according to officials, the width of the access road to the site of the rock festival and the absence of other roads.

The organizers hoped that the festival would still take place, it was announced that it was postponed to September 7, that is, a week later than the originally planned date. However, in the end, the festival was banned - the interdepartmental commission found that the city's law enforcement services could not guarantee the safety of the festival participants.

The official announcement of the cancellation of the holiday is posted on the website of the rock festival. The organizers promise to make every effort to ensure that it still takes place next year, they will try to find a more convenient and safe place for it. It was assumed that about three thousand people would attend the rock festival; not only Ural musicians, but also guests from other regions, including Moscow, were to take part in the event.
