In the drawing of a bullfinch, it is important to reflect the characteristic features of the plumage color and body structure of this winter bird. Unlike sparrows, on which they generally look like, bullfinches pick up their legs and suck in their necks.
Instructions
Step 1
Start drawing a bullfinch by drawing auxiliary elements on a sheet of paper. Draw a circle with thin lines. This will be the body of the bird. Divide it in half with a vertical bar.
Step 2
Draw a line through the center of the circle, which forms an angle of approximately 40 degrees with the vertical bar. This line will define the direction of the bird's head and tail.
Step 3
Draw a small semicircle for the head of the bullfinch. Its center should be at the intersection of the circle and the inclined line. The bullfinch does not stretch its neck, unlike other birds, because it tries to keep warm.
Step 4
Draw lines that correspond to the direction of the tail feathers, they come from the bottom of the circle and are located on the auxiliary ramp. The length of these feathers is approximately equal to the diameter of the great circle.
Step 5
Highlight the flight feathers of the wings, they are not very long, reaching about the middle of the tail.
Step 6
Draw the legs of the bird. They are, as a rule, completely hidden in the plumage of the lower body of the bullfinch. Draw small fingers and claws at the intersection of the circle and the vertical auxiliary line.
Step 7
Start drawing. Soften the outline of the bird, especially at the junction of the head and body. Select the black beanie at the top of the head, draw a round eye at its border. Draw the bullfinch's beak, its lower part is more massive than the upper one.
Step 8
Erase construction lines with an eraser.
Step 9
Start coloring. Use black to highlight the flight and tail feathers, the top of the bullfinch and its beak. Select some short feathers in the middle part of the wings with white.
Step 10
Paint the back of the bird with gray and the feathers in the lower belly with white. Highlight the chest, neck and cheeks in red. Be aware that in females these areas are gray-brown. Make the legs of the bird dark gray.
