Even a person who is not too experienced in needlework can easily make a simple and necessary mask for sleeping as a gift or for himself. This accessory is useful for travelers to take a nap on the train and plane, and for homebodies who want to sleep longer, despite the first rays of the sun.

It is necessary

  • - colored fabric for the front side;
  • - white fabric for the seamy side;
  • - synthetic winterizer for laying;
  • - elastic tape 1-2 cm wide;
  • - oblique inlay;
  • - ribbons, buttons, lace for decoration.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare a piece of fabric for the face of the mask. It is better to use cotton fabric, choosing one that does not peel off too much. Choose bias tape and embellishments to match or contrast with the main pattern. For the wrong side, choose white cotton.

Step 2

Draw a mask on a piece of paper. When applying it to your face, make the cutout for the nose deeper or shallower, wider or narrower the mask itself. Transfer the finished pattern to the main and white fabric and a padding polyester flap (you can use a drape or other dense fabric instead, but the padding polyester is lighter and more hygroscopic).

Step 3

Decorate the face of the mask. Cut a short ribbon out of the main fabric, sew on the short edges, then fold along the inside out. Gather the resulting ring on a thread along the cut edges, grabbing two layers of fabric at once. Gather a piece of silk ribbon with a thread, leaving both ends free.

Step 4

Sew on the blank of the mask first "flower" from the main fabric. In its center, fasten a beautiful button on the leg. Pull the gathered ribbon around the leg. Fasten and cut the free edges of the tape.

Step 5

Fold all layers of blanks for the mask, sweep on a live thread and sew with a seam "over the edge". Use the same seam to attach the elastic tape to the edges. Select the length by attaching the chipped workpiece to the head. The tape should stretch only slightly and hold the mask over the ears without pinching.

Step 6

Baste a bias tape around the edge. Sew it on with a blind stitch. Remove the basting and steam the garment.
