Girls and women want to learn to knit in order to create original models of clothes and accessories and save money at the same time. Any hand knitting, both knitting and crocheting, begins with the formation of the first loop.

How to knit the first loop

It is necessary

  • - a ball of thread;
  • - knitting needles;
  • - hook.

Instructions

Step 1

Unwind the ball. You need to leave the end of the thread, which will be about 2 times the width of the knitted product. Place the thread around your left thumb and forefinger. The thread coming from the ball should lie on the index finger, and its end should hang down closer to the thumb. Use the other three fingers to hold the threads.

Step 2

Take 2 knitting needles in your right hand. Insert the needles from bottom to top and from left to right under the thread at the thumb. From above, grab the thread that is stretched between your thumb and forefinger. Pull the grabbed thread from the bottom through the loop near the thumb (in the same way that you inserted the knitting needles).

Step 3

Use knitting needles to remove the loop from your thumb. Tighten the resulting loops with the end of the thread. The first loop on the needles is not one, but 2 loops. You should not tighten the loops too much, but you should not make them too loose either. Try to knit in an even row.

Step 4

Continue to knit the rest of the stitches in the same way as for the first stitch. At the end of the 1st row, remove one knitting needle, which will be the working needle for a set of loops. If you want to learn how to crochet, move on to the next step.

Step 5

Crochet the first loop. Crocheting the first loop, like knitting needles, is easy. There is no need to leave a long thread length. Pinch the end of the thread with your left thumb to the middle phalanx of the index finger. Wrap the thread around your index finger clockwise so that you make a loop, and pass the working thread over your index finger.

Step 6

Take the hook in your right hand. Insert it under the loop from right to left. Hook a working thread from above and pull it through the loop from left to right. It turned out the first loop, which only needs to be tightened with a thread. Continue crocheting by pulling the working thread on your index finger through the loop on your crochet hook.
