The locomotive is a favorite toy of all children, especially boys. Try to draw a simple train for your child. Show your kid how to hold a pencil correctly, entrust them to shade some details.
Instructions
Step 1
Select the front, slightly side and top views. Draw a small oval on the left side of the sheet. Draw another oval around the first slightly larger size. It is important that the far line of the second oval merges smoothly with the line of the first oval, since you have chosen a slightly side view and that part will simply not be visible.
Step 2
From the top and bottom lines, draw two lines to the side, depicting the tapered part of the engine. Connect the lines with a half-oval. Draw a chimney from the top center of the cone. Round its upper part a little to show the part of the pipe that is visible from the inside.
Step 3
Draw a vertical rectangle behind the cone to represent the undercarriage of the engine. From the bottom of the rectangle, draw a line to the side, slightly up. Draw a line of the same length from both top points of the rectangle. Connect the upper lines together and from the resulting point draw a line down to the bottom. In front and on the side, at the top, draw two rectangular windows, parallel to the top lines.
Step 4
Since your engine is simple, you do not need to draw five wheels, as on a real steam engine. Draw one wheelset. To draw the front wheel, draw an oval. Draw another oval slightly larger than the first. And just as in the image of the front conical part, the far line of the second oval should smoothly connect with the line of the first oval. Draw the second wheel a little larger under the undercarriage according to the same principle. Note that half of the front wheel on the other side of the engine is slightly visible. Draw it too.
Step 5
Draw a drawbar, that is, the metal connection between the wheels that drives them. To do this, draw a double line from the bottom of the front wheel to the top of the rear wheel. At the junctions with the wheels, round off the lines a little. In the middle of the rounding, make a small circle. Erase the extra lines. The locomotive is ready.
