The double knitted hat can be worn even in severe frosts. It is more luxuriant than a regular single one and keeps its shape better, even if it is knitted from loose soft wool. Such a hat can be knitted both on the machine and with the most common knitting needles, and there are several ways to set loops.
It is necessary
- - yarn;
- - knitting needles on the line;
- - centimeter.
Instructions
Step 1
Measure the circumference of your head. Knitted products tend to stretch, so you need to take a couple of centimeters from this measurement for fitting. Tie a double elastic and basic knit pattern and calculate the number of stitches.
Step 2
Loops can be cast in the usual way, from the same ball from which you are going to knit. For simple hats knitted with hosiery, this is the best option. If you are knitting tightly and with thick wool, cast on twice the number of stitches required by the measurement. In all other cases, cast on as many loops as you need to measure. In the first row, remove the hem, then knit with the front ones, and between them - the yarns (it is better the reverse ones, so that there are no holes).
Step 3
Begin to knit a double "scallop" hat with a lapel from the bottom. Cast on the loops in the usual way and knit the product straight with a double elastic band. Remove the hem, knit the first loop with the front one, remove the second, leaving the thread in front of it. In this way, alternate the loops to the end of the row, and in the next one, knit over the front in the same way and remove the purl. The thread should be between the layers all the time. Complete the lapel.
Step 4
Determine where you will have the front side. On it over the front loops, knit the purl, and remove the purl of the previous row in the same way as in all previous rows. This will be the fold line. You don't have to do it, but then you have to fix the lapel somehow.
Step 5
Knit all the following rows as at the beginning, removing the purl and knitting the front ones. You should end up with a double rectangle. In the last row, knit and purl in pairs, and then close the loops. Sew a hat. You should have 2 seams at the top and back.
Step 6
A double hat can also be with patterns - braids, rhombuses, etc. True, the double elastic band is not very conducive to the use of all kinds of combinations of loops. But there is another way out. Cast on an initial row of thread from another ball. This method of dialing was called Italian, but it is used everywhere. In this case, it is better to use the second method of doubling the number of loops, that is, in the first row between the front ones, knit reverse yarns.
Step 7
Knit with a regular double elastic band to the height of the lapel or, for example, the rim. Then close all the loops by first knitting them in pairs. With this method, the work is turned over, that is, the row that you just finished will be the first in the finished product.
Step 8
Dissolve the set series. For further steps, you will need either a second set of knitting needles with a fishing line, or a thread of a different color. On the main knitting needles, collect the loops of the half of the hat that you will now knit. Through the rest, for example, thread the thread so that they do not bloom.
Step 9
Tie the front of the cap first. Since you no longer have double knitting, you can decorate your product with all kinds of pigtails, knitted branches with leaves, etc. Knit until the moment when you need to lower the loops. After that, leave the work on the line or remove it on an additional thread.
Step 10
Continue knitting the lining. Here you can use the simplest pattern - for example, a garter stitch. Tie this part of the cap to the same height as the first.
Step 11
Join both halves together. Remove the hem face, then on the right knitting needle, take the hem from the backing, leaving the working thread between the layers. Knit the next stitch of the main section, put the next stitch of the lining on the right knitting needle. Do this alternation to the end of the row. Thus, you have a double elastic again. Work 4-6 rows in this way.
Step 12
Halve the number of stitches by knitting the front and back stitches in pairs. Knit the next row with purl, then again reduce the number of loops by half. This time, knit two stitches together along the entire row. Break off the thread. Thread it into a knit stitching needle. Pull the thread through all the loops of the last row and tighten. The back seam can be sewn with the same. Such a hat can be decorated, for example, with a pompom.
