Even the most laconic and austere interior needs decor - it allows you to place accents in a faceless space. Throw pillows can become such spots. Plain pillowcases bought or sewn with your own hands can be decorated with a wide variety of embroidery.
Instructions
Step 1
Select the pattern to embroider. You can take a ready-made scheme from a specialized magazine or from the Internet site. If you can't find a suitable pattern, draw it yourself. Depict the embroidery plot in full size, select the desired shade for each of its elements.
Step 2
If you want to embroider the pillow with a cross, divide the sketch of the drawing made by hand into cells. Each square corresponds to one cross. To facilitate the task, you can translate the diagram onto a notebook sheet in a box.
Step 3
To accurately transfer the pattern with a cross to the pillow, you will need a canvas. Choose “pulled out” - its threads are pulled out from under the finished embroidery. Instead, you can use a paper outline swept directly over the fabric. However, it will be more difficult to pull out pieces of paper from under the crosses. Secure the diagram or canvas with a needle-forward seam.
Step 4
Choose the direction of embroidery, guided by your own feelings. It is easier for someone to start from the center and to move with diverging "rays" to the sides, for someone it is more convenient to embroider in rows. To make the first cross, insert the needle from the wrong side into the lower left corner of the square, pull the thread to the upper right corner, then pull through the lower right and insert into the upper left. If you have a large section to be sewn in one color, you can first embroider the entire row in half cross stitches - diagonals from left to right, and then go back and close them from right to left from bottom to top.
Step 5
If you want a smoother outline of the pattern, satin stitch the pillow. In this case, the drawing can be applied to the fabric with a pencil. Fill in portions of the pattern with needle-first stitches close to each other. The edges of the stitches can be at the same level or at different - depending on the shape of the section. Use a tack stitch to stretch the stitch over a larger area. Fasten the threads stretched between the contours of the pattern with small perpendicular stitches. You can achieve a three-dimensional image using flooring. Sew the pattern with thick threads, then cover it with a thick layer of perpendicular stitches.
Step 6
You can make the simplest seams for embroidery decorative with tape. If you are creating a floral pattern on the pillow, take multicolored satin ribbons instead of threads - then any stitch you make will look unusual.
Step 7
Complete the embroidery with beads or beads. They can be attached one by one with a thin needle or strung in a long row and fixed "firmly". This method is suitable if you are embroidering a pillow that is used exclusively for interior decoration.
