Any advice and recommendations on the use of fertilizers for flowers, describing the necessary minerals and trace elements necessary for them, would not be complete without recipes for composing fertilizers for indoor plants. It is certainly possible (and sometimes necessary) to use specialized fertilizers bought in a store, but, alas, the realities of our life are such that it is impossible to be 100% sure of the quality of these drugs.
Instructions
Step 1
Mineral fertilizers
For decorative deciduous indoor plants
For one liter of water:
Superphosphate (simple) - 0.5 grams
Ammonium nitrate - 0.4 grams
Potassium nitrate - 0.1 gram
It is recommended to feed the plants with this solution once a week.
For flowering indoor plants
For one liter of water:
Superphosphate (simple) - 1.5 grams
Ammonium sulfate - 1 gram
Potassium salt (concentration 30..40%) - 1 gram
Water once a week.
All of the above ingredients are quite affordable, and you can buy them in many shops for gardeners and summer residents.
Step 2
Simple mullein fertilizer
To prepare this fertilizer, pour one part of the mullein with two parts of water and leave to ferment. After the solution has fermented, we dilute it 5 times. We feed once a week. This fertilizer is suitable for both flowering and decorative deciduous plants. When feeding flowering plants during the budding and flowering period, you can add 1 gram of superphosphate to 0.5 liters of fertilizer.
Step 3
Nettle based fertilizer
Pour one hundred grams of fresh nettle with a liter of water and insist in a sealed container for 24 hours. The resulting infusion is filtered and diluted 1:10. Such a solution is a very good restorative agent for enrichment and restoration of depleted land. Instead of fresh nettles, you can use dried nettles (5 times less).
Some of the components of mineral fertilizers, if not toxic, are not entirely harmless to the body. Therefore, it is better to prepare them in non-residential premises, and certainly not in the kitchen. The kitchen counter isn't exactly the right place to make them. When using any organic fertilizers for indoor plants, it should be remembered that the smell from them does not ozonize the air in the room at all. Therefore, it is best to carry out such fertilizing in a well-ventilated area or when indoor plants are outdoors in summer.
