To drink up success in growing indoor lemon, you need to properly care for and cut, that is, propagate. There are several ways to do this, but one of the most effective is with the help of a greenhouse. So what's the right way to root a decorative lemon?
It is necessary
- - expanded clay,
- - scissors,
- - soil for citrus fruits,
- - sand,
- - plastic bottle,
- - "Kornevin".
Instructions
Step 1
It is necessary to pick up a ripe shoot with well-formed leaves for future cuttings and divide into cuttings. Make a cut with a sharp knife three millimeters below the bud, remove the bottom two leaves, and leave the next two or three. If the leaves are too long, shorten them by two-thirds with regular scissors. The top cut should be five millimeters higher than the sheet. Prepare the rest of the cuttings in the same way and place them in the Kornevin solution.
Step 2
Then you should prepare the future greenhouse, for this you need a regular plastic bottle (two-liter). At the point where the neck of the bottle ends, cut it around the circumference by cutting off the neck. Make a few holes at the bottom to drain excess water. The neck of the bottle will sit firmly and easily on the bottom.
Step 3
Fill the bottom of the container with a layer of expanded clay or small stones (performing the function of drainage) and a layer of sand, cover almost to the brim with prepared soil, consisting of soil for citrus plants and sand in a one-to-one ratio. Stick the cuttings two to three centimeters in and water liberally so that the water comes out onto the sump. Drain off excess water and cover the stem with a neck, place in a bright and warm place. The optimum temperature for keeping sprouts is 25 degrees.
Step 4
During rooting, cuttings do not need to be watered. After the plant is rooted, which can be seen through the bottle, carefully transplant into prepared pots, the capacity of which should be one liter.
Step 5
Position your homemade greenhouse so that as much daylight as possible falls on the front of the leaves. Sunlight is essential for the plant, as it forms the process of photosynthesis. It is desirable that all leaves receive the right amount of light, for example, a stalk with three leaves will take root faster than a plant with one leaf.
