In the cold season, it is very pleasant to return home and change your frozen feet into warm homemade slippers. When working on such slippers, you can show remarkable imagination, which will make these shoes unique and one of a kind. In addition, self-made slippers can be a good gift for a loved one.
It is necessary
- - a piece of felt 60x60 cm;
- - thick threads and a needle;
- - tailor's chalk.
Instructions
Step 1
When choosing felt for future slippers, try to take a thicker material so that the shoes are as comfortable to wear as possible and do not leak out after a couple of days.
Step 2
It is also better to choose a thick and nylon thread. If you take a thread of a contrasting color, it will also play a decorative role.
Step 3
At the initial stage of work, you will need a pattern. It is not at all difficult to make it. Place your foot on a piece of paper, circle it with a simple pencil, leaving a margin of a couple of centimeters. You don't need to outline each finger, just draw a sketchy outline.
Step 4
Alternatively, you can use the insoles from your regular shoes, not forgetting the 2 cm allowance.
Step 5
Now you need to cut out the top half of the slippers. Measure from your fingertips to the beginning of your lower leg. Do not forget that the width of the upper part should be twice the width of the part of the sole to which it will be sewn. To better imagine its size, place a piece of paper on top of your foot, press it to the floor and outline the resulting silhouette.
Step 6
Cut out the details of the pattern, fold them together and sew with a needle-forward stitch. The distance between the needle punctures should be at least 0.5 cm so that the seam is as stable as possible. Do not forget to sew on the back of the slippers, this will help them to become more stable and look more attractive.
Step 7
Ready-made slippers can be decorated with beads, buttons and even embroidery.
