Sometimes you really don't want to go to the store, but you really want some new thing. A man will come to the rescue as usual - it is quite possible to make an exclusive top from his T-shirt in a short time. And you can be sure that no one will have such a second one.
Instructions
Step 1
A hippie top can be made from a regular men's T-shirt in just a couple of hours. It will be easier to work on it if you first sketch out a sketch: a silhouette, the main elements of decoration, etc.
Step 2
After the image of the future top is finally formed in your imagination, you can start cutting. Turn the shirt inside out and draw future lines for the side seams and armholes. If you want to change the shape of the collar, also mark the new outline with a line, do not forget to leave small allowances for the seams.
Step 3
Pin the t-shirt along the outline and carefully cut it out. Sew on your hands or stitch the future top on a sewing machine. To keep the edges of the cotton fabric from slipping, overcast the edges. The chosen style of the top assumes some carelessness of the style, so this can be done using a regular buttonhole seam with threads of a contrasting color fabric.
Step 4
Now you can start decorating the top. The hippie style allows for decorative cuts, sewn fringes, cords, sequins, etc. The slits can be located anywhere on the top: diverge in different directions from the neckline, go parallel in the chest area or vertically in the abdomen (this depends on which part of your figure you want to emphasize for others).
Step 5
Don't strive for perfect symmetry - cut by simply adhering to the selected pattern as a whole. Poke a hole in the fabric with an awl or knitting needle, then use scissors to cut the fabric to the desired length. The strips of fabric between the cuts will soon curl up into cords, while providing the desired degree of openness at the same time.
Step 6
The bottom edge of the top can be decorated with a fringe, into the ends of which large wooden beads of different colors can be woven in random order. The outer sides of the straps can be trimmed in the same way. On the chest, an applique made of fabric, matched to the color of patches of leather and fur, will look good.
