Instructions
Step 1
When you are going to sew a wedding cape, keep in mind that it should be easy to put on. After all, the bride will not have much time to endlessly button and unfasten buttons on this item of clothing. Therefore, two models of capes are in special demand among girls who are going to get married: bolero and cape. If you choose the first option, then go to the store and buy a suitable material - fabric or fur - about 150 cm wide, about 50 cm long.
Step 2
Sew the entire cape from a single piece of material. To do this, cut it out like this: mentally divide the material in half and set aside 25-30 cm on both sides from the middle. This will be the main part of the product. Then evenly reduce on the sleeves, use your own measurements so that they do not fit your hands, tapering only to the edge of the fabric. From the edge, they should be equal to the circumference of the brush. Cut out the workpiece and finish the edges.
Step 3
Next, fold it in half horizontally, then sew the sleeves along the resulting curved lines. Now all that remains is to process the edges of the sleeves, and your cape is ready. If you want, you can additionally decorate it with ribbons, stones, feathers and other decorative elements.
Step 4
The cape cloak is similar in design to a poncho. To make it, you will need material about 140 cm wide and about 70 cm long. Cutting such a model is quite simple - like a half-sun skirt. To do this, fold the material in half widthwise. And open it like this: leave a distance of about 30 cm from the top to the beginning of the cape. Then measure 60 cm to the bottom of the product. Draw a semicircle on the pattern. Then cut the fabric to fit this pattern.
Step 5
If you think there is too much fabric left after cutting, don't worry: it can be used to make a collar. Fold the remaining material inward with the right side, then sew the short cuts together. Turn the workpiece out and stitch the longitudinal cuts to the top of the product. Sew them together and finish over the edges. All that remains is to sew on the fastener - it can be a beautiful button, an original hook, or satin ties. The choice of fastener depends solely on your preferences and imagination.
