Original and useful crafts for a summer cottage can be created from a variety of materials at hand. For this, the completely unexpected things that accumulate in the barn or on the site can be useful to gardeners-craftsmen. And the material costs for such summer cottage experiments will be insignificant.
Beds of old shoes
Old shoes can become a decoration of a summer cottage if you work with them a little. Make holes in the soles of multi-colored rubber boots that can no longer be used for their intended purpose. Fill them with garden soil so that you can plant flowers in the bootlegs. Place the boots in a suitable place in the garden, such as by placing them near the entrance to a house or next to a bench, or screw them onto a fence or a barn wall.
If you have plans to hang a flower bed from a boot, first attach it in the chosen place, and then fill it with soil and plant flowers.
It is not difficult to make with your own hands an original composition from an old textured shoe. Consider the drainage system right away. Make an outdoor chair out of an unrooted tall stump of a suitable diameter. Gouge the middle of the tree stump to form a seat. Leave the backrest and armrests low. The back is easily made higher by attaching an additional thick board. You can throw a small flat cushion on the seat.
To keep your homemade chair lasting longer, coat the hollowed-out inside of the tree stump with oil paint or yacht varnish.
Crafts for giving from stones
Use coarse river pebbles to line the garden paths. You can also overlay them with flower beds, creating ornate compositions.
With a little drawing skill, paint the river stones with acrylics. This fun activity can be assigned to children. Such works will unusually decorate your garden plot.
Foam garden sculpture
Make a fun kolobok out of polyurethane foam. Take a hard rubber or plastic ball. Cover it with several layers of foam with intermediate drying. Use a sharp knife to clean out the excess growths, giving the craft the shape of a ball, cut through the eyes and mouth. Make a round nose with foam as well. When the sculpture is completely dry, paint it with oil paints or spray paints.
