A transforming cube is a fairly popular form for making custom calendars or just interesting souvenirs. It is also well suited for making an original gift - several memorable photographs, folding from square pieces by themselves, will remind your friends for a long time about an interesting trip or holiday. The transforming cube will attract the attention of both an adult and a child, because it can be folded and unfolded endlessly - such is its "cunning" design. However, despite its apparent complexity, it is very easy to make such a cube.
It is necessary
- - 8 cubes (ready-made or self-glued from thick cardboard);
- - scotch tape;
- - scissors and a stationery knife;
- - 6 square images and 3 rectangular;
- - glue.
Instructions
Step 1
Take eight identical cubes from an unnecessary children's set. If you need a cube of a certain size, then glue such cubes yourself from hard cardboard.
Step 2
Draw a flat pattern of the cube with the side dimensions you want. With the non-cutting side of the clerical knife blade, draw a ruler along all the fold lines of the reamer, pressing slightly on the knife.
Step 3
Cut the workpiece along the contour with a stationery knife along the ruler. Fold the reamer and glue it into a cube using tape or tissue paper strips over the edges of the cube.
Step 4
Glue the remaining seven cubes of the same size in the same way.
Step 5
Collect all eight cubes into one large one (each side of which consists of four small squares). According to the presented scheme, glue the corresponding cubes together. To do this, you can use tape or thin strips of paper. It is necessary to glue each pair of cubes on both sides so that the structure is strong and the cube does not fall apart during the first use.
Step 6
Now you need images that you can use to decorate the cube, or calendar grids that you need to distribute along the faces of the transforming cube. Print each image with strictly specified dimensions: six of them should be square and the same size as the folded face of the transforming cube, and three images - rectangular - twice as long.
Step 7
Distribute the calendar grids along the faces of the transforming cube as follows: for each face, consisting of four squares, there should be one month. That is, on rectangular spreads you will have calendar grids of two months. Although, you can place grids and pictures in a different way.
Step 8
Glue the entire printed images onto the edge of the cube, then carefully cut them into squares with a utility knife. At the same time, make sure not to damage the connecting fasteners of the transformer cube structure.
