When choosing a costume for a child, parents often cannot cope with the ingrained ideas about carnival costumes. This is how five snowflakes, a couple of spider-people and a dozen bunnies appear at the holiday. To distinguish your child from the crowd, you do not have to come up with something unusual. Sewing a costume for a child with a simple but recognizable horse, you can easily get away from stereotypes.

It is necessary

  • - paper;
  • - pencil;
  • - ruler;
  • - scissors;
  • - the cloth;
  • - threads;
  • - sewing machine.

Instructions

Step 1

The most recognizable and interesting will be a horse suit of the suit called "in apples". It will be based on a gray shirt and trousers. If there are no clothes of this color in the child's wardrobe, sew them yourself. Find a pattern for a shirt and trousers in a magazine or the Internet, or build it yourself, taking all the necessary measurements. Sew the garment out of gray suiting. In this case, the shirt can be made without a collar.

Step 2

Sew a hood to the collar of the top of the suit. To build a pattern, measure from shoulder to crown. Draw a rectangular pattern that is this height, then add two centimeters for seam allowances. Then round the top corner of the hood.

Step 3

Make a mane for the suit. Cut a rectangle out of hard cardboard. Its height should be equal to the desired length of the hair in the mane. Take woolen yarn and wrap it around cardboard. After making 7-10 turns, cut the thread. Remove the skein from the template, pass a short piece of any thread through the bottom of it, then wind the thread around the base of the resulting bundle. Cut the loops at the top of the bundle. Prepare enough of these brushes. There should be enough of them so that you can lay out the mane along the entire length of the hood.

Step 4

Fold the two hood pieces right side up. Along the seam line, place the elements of the mane. Their main length should be between the layers of fabric - so that when turned out, the mane is long enough. Stitch the hood with a sewing machine. Then stitch the detail to the shirt collar.

Step 5

Take a piece of felt. Cut it into strips 1 cm wide. The length of the strips should correspond to the desired length of the horse's tail. Slightly open the back seam of the trousers and sew the resulting felt tail into the hole.

Step 6

Make apple spots in the form of appliqués. Cut them using the same pattern out of any color felt. Traditional dark gray apples can be replaced with more interesting ones - lilac or orange (in this case, it is worth making the mane and tail of the same color). Sew on appliqués by hand or with a typewriter. Try to spread the apples evenly throughout the horse's suit.
