Fur earmuffs will not save you from the winter cold, from the icy wind, but in the off-season they can be simply irreplaceable. Fur earmuffs can be made very quickly, in just 2-3 hours, and they will last all autumn until the onset of real cold weather and the April drop will help to wait.

It is necessary

Scissors, needle, thread, glue, fur patches, cardboard or plastic file, hair band, leatherette or leather flap

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, choose a suitable plastic headband for hair - it is better with smooth edges and an outer plane, such a headband will be easier to wrap with any material. Sew a leatherette, dense fabric or thin leather case onto the rim, make it with a significant allowance along the length, so that it is easier to work further. Gently, so as not to get dirty, pull the finished cover over the bezel greased with glue, gather it into an accordion and leave it to dry completely.

Step 2

From thick cardboard, a badge or a plastic card, cut out two rectangular, with rounded corners, inserts for fur headphones. Determine the dimensions yourself, so as not to turn out to be small or too large. If you want to make especially voluminous fur headphones, glue blanks made of synthetic winterizer or thin foam rubber of the same size on these inserts. This, in turn, will protect your ears from undue pressure from the hoop.

Step 3

From the old sheepskin coat, fight off the edges of the sleeves (one will be enough) or open the unnecessary hat from which the child has grown, if there are no ready-made scraps of fur. If you want to have headphones of a different color or if the burnt fur requires it, it's time to dye it. There are many recipes for dyeing, dyeing fur, but it is better to entrust this business to specialists in dry cleaning, so at least you will not ruin it.

Step 4

Now cut out two blanks from the fur, a little more wide than the inserts and double the length, then, rounding off, cut the corners. Fold the cut pieces in half, with the fur inward, and overlock along the sides. Turn out the resulting bags from the inside out, carefully insert the plastic blanks with padding polyester inside.

Step 5

Orient the fur ears so that the sintepon inside them is turned towards the head, and the solid base is outward. Insert the trimmed rim with the ends to the plastic, so that when you wear it, you get the following sequence: your ear, fur, synthetic winterizer, plastic (cardboard), the end of the hoop, fur. Sew on the top of the earbuds by sewing it tightly to the headband. The headphones are ready.
