Choosing a DSLR camera for a novice photographer is a rather difficult and responsible business. The camera should be as cheap as possible, but at the same time have good capabilities and have all the basic necessary functions.
Before buying a DSLR, think about whether you really need one? If you need a camera for ordinary household photography, a simple digital "soap dish" will be enough. Such a camera is compact, easy to operate and gives quite a decent quality of photographs.
The need for a digital camera arises when you need pictures of higher quality. For example, such a camera may be needed by someone who wants to take art photography or decided to become a professional photographer. In this case, a lot depends on the correct choice of the camera.
Entry-level digital cameras
Entry-level digital cameras are distinguished by the simplest control, lightness, lack of functions that in practice are needed only by professional photographers. The quality of the matrix and other characteristics of the camera, as a rule, are quite high and allow you to get quite professional pictures.
There is a fairly large number of such cameras, which are simple, reliable, and at the same time allowing to take very high-quality photographs. Examples include Canon EOS 600D kit 18-55 IS, Canon EOS 1100D, Nikon D200.
Interchangeable lens
Even if you are buying an entry-level digital camera, be sure to pay attention to the lens - it must be interchangeable. If the lens cannot be changed, this significantly impoverishes the photographer's capabilities. On the other hand, even a simple interchangeable lens camera allows you to take a wide variety of pictures. For example, a telephoto lens will allow you to shoot at a great distance, a wide-angle lens will allow you to take panoramic photos, with a macro lens, you can photograph plants, insects, and any other small objects at close range. Therefore, the possibility of changing the lens must be present.
The number of pixels of the matrix and its size
It's not worth chasing the number of pixels in the matrix. If the camera has 12-16 megapixels, this is more than enough for high-quality shooting. It makes no sense to pay more for a more expensive camera, for example, with a 24 megapixel matrix, since no differences in the quality of images of the most common formats can be visually detected. But the physical size of the matrix is essential. If you see two cameras of the same price, the first has a 36x24 matrix, and the second, for example, 23x15, then it is certainly better to take the first one. The larger the matrix, the greater the camera's light sensitivity and the lower the noise level.
The skill of the photographer
Of course, the quality of the camera affects the result of the photographer's work. However, the skill of the photographer is much more important - his sense of style, his sense of beauty. A talented person, even with a relatively simple DSLR camera, can take truly amazing pictures. Therefore, for a start, it is enough to purchase a simple camera with a good matrix. Over time, you will be able to purchase the necessary lenses and other accessories that will significantly expand your capabilities.
