Second life for short pants
It is necessary
Two pairs of trousers, a thin elastic band, clips for elastic bands 4 pcs, scissors, a sewing machine, threads, a blade
Instructions
Step 1
To begin with, let's choose two pairs of trousers that look decent, but are too small for a child in length. The texture of the fabric on the trousers must be the same. We will choose one basic trousers, which we will "build up", and "work" trousers, which will be used for hemming.
Step 2
Cut off the lower part of the trousers for working trousers. You need to cut off as much as we will increase the length of the main trousers. Do not forget to have a 2 cm seam allowance. Overlock or zigzag the trimmed edge.
Step 3
Turn the main trousers inside out. We put the cut-off leg on the main leg on the wrong side, combining the bottom of the main leg with the workpiece processed by the overlock. Align the side seams, they must match. We outline.
Step 4
The bottom of the main trousers was hemmed at the factory, we will thread a thin elastic band into it and fasten it with clamps.
Step 5
To keep the bottom firmly in place, after threading and securing with a clip, we tie the ends of the elastic to a knot, and pull this knot under the basting seam, and leave the ends of the elastic on this side.
Step 6
We will do the same with the working bottom of the trousers.
Step 7
We turn out the main leg and attach it.
Step 8
We take out the sewn workpiece. We iron.
