Acrylic is an excellent tool for extending and decorating nails, so most often volumetric modeling from this material is used in beauty salons. But recently, acrylic molding has also been found in the decoration of many household and decorative items - fountain pens, lighters, dishes. Even a cell phone can be decorated in such an unusual way.

Acrylic sculpting is gradually becoming a true art. If you want to master this skill, you need to stock up on some materials. And you can develop modeling skills throughout your life.

The materials that are required for acrylic sculpting can be freely purchased in stores where they sell everything for a nail service. The basis of the future stucco work is colored acrylic powder. It is mixed with a special liquid-monomer until the substance obtains the consistency of a plastic mass. A self-curing monomer of the classical type, odorless and providing a sufficient polymerization rate, is suitable for acrylic molding.

Stucco work is performed using a special brush. A round or oval brush made of sable hair or a column is convenient. The brush is moistened abundantly in the monomer, and then acrylic powder is taken with the very tip of it. The powder should be collected in a small ball, which is carefully placed on the surface to be decorated and crushed. The result is a petal, the shape and size of which is determined by the pressure of the brush and the direction of movement.

The most common acrylic sculpture is a flower. It is not difficult to sculpt a rose from one medium-sized ball, and many small balls will make it possible to create a chamomile or aster. The size of each ball is determined by the degree of moistening of the brush before applying acrylic powder to it.

Acrylic sculpting does not tolerate fuss, but it should be done quickly enough, because acrylic curing takes place in a matter of minutes. An experienced craftsman usually takes one or two minutes to give the ball the desired shape. Each petal is worked out sequentially. When finished with one element, move on to the next. The petals of acrylic flowers become more graceful if thin veins are drawn on them.

With a developed imagination, the artistic repertoire can be expanded. In skillful hands, multi-colored acrylic balls can easily turn into elegant butterflies, fish, dragonflies, or simply into unique patterns that combine various abstract shapes.
