Nowadays, various thread crafts are not as popular as they were about 10 years ago. Lightweight and easy-to-use puppets have been replaced by cheap products on supermarket shelves. But in Russia there are still special centers where girls and boys of school age are taught how to make a toy on strings.
It is necessary
A skein of multicolored threads, a small form - a fabric frame that will decorate our thread product, a beautiful braid, wire or a piece of wood for the frame, as well as a few beads for facial features
Instructions
Step 1
Most often, children are taught to make a universal model of a puppet doll - this is the horse Sivka-Burka. First you need to take a wire and make it look like a horse. Then we carefully tie our frame with threads, using mainly blue and brown threads. After the frame is covered with threads, it is necessary to come up with a mane and a tail for the horse. For this, a combination of yellow and white woolen threads is most often used, they will give the necessary splendor to our craft. After that, you can cut off the unnecessary ends of the threads, and begin to shape the face of the future horse. To do this, use multi-colored beads, as well as the remains of the ends of the threads. Sivka-Burka is ready.
Step 2
Now you need to make a wagu - this is a special wooden cross, which will later be used to control the doll. To begin with, we will cut a bar of any wooden blank, and process the resulting cuts with sandpaper, going through all sharp corners and connecting all parts of the cross with PVA glue. While our wag is glued and dries up, we need to make a small sketch of the character's connections to the wag. To do this, we need the exact lengths of the arms, legs and head of our pre-sewn doll. Using this drawing, then it will be possible to easily connect all the parts with the help of threads to the waga.
Step 3
After drying the vagi, it is necessary to cut the trouser tape and connect all the body parts to the cross with it. The most important thing is to glue the braid on the arms from the inside, and the legs only from the outside. This creates the balance of your doll. Then, for more control over the movements of the doll, wrap the glued parts of the body with several layers of thread. The resulting wooden cross itself must be additionally strengthened in the place where it is glued with a thread with nails. Studs and seams can be easily masked with pieces of wrapping paper. The puppet is ready.
Making a toy on strings is quite simple, the main thing is to adhere to these tips and have a little patience. Good luck in forming your future dolls from threads.
