Step 1

Saw the stock of the crossbow into two parts to place the parts of the trigger mechanism between them. Cut two plates out of steel or brass. The plates must be the same size. The form does not really matter, the main thing is that they fulfill their function.

Make a drum. He will hold the bowstring, and the drum itself is held by the protrusion of the trigger. When the trigger is pulled, the drum is released from the obstacle and begins to rotate. The bowstring jumps off the drum, the arrow goes into the target.

After firing a shot, pull the bowstring back to its original position, while the drum catches the protrusion on the bowstring and rotates to its original position. The trigger spring is triggered, it fits into the groove of the drum. The drum is now rigidly fixed and does not rotate. The bowstring is put on the drum protrusions, the crossbow is ready for the next shot.
