Instructions
Step 1
Choose patterns for the doll's body and head. These can be standard rag doll patterns or shapes you design. Cut them out of paper. Avoid complicated details, the beauty of an attic doll is in its simplicity and naivety.
Step 2
Age the material from which the body and head will be made. Choose natural fabrics such as linen, cotton or flesh-colored wool. Apply strongly brewed tea to the material, paint with felt-tip pens. For scuffs, rub the razor over the fibers of the fabric, try to avoid incisions. Wash the fabric. Add ash stains if necessary.
Step 3
Cut out the parts of the body and head from the prepared fabric, sew. Leave small holes in the arms, legs, and torso. Stuff with cotton wool. Fill in the holes, sew the arms and legs to the body. Sew hair from woolen threads to a head stuffed with cotton. Pre-wash your threads at a high temperature. Braid the doll's braids. Sew the finished head to the body, it doesn't matter if it is not sewn straight.
Step 4
Draw eyes for the doll. To do this, use faded watercolors, let the paints flow a little to achieve the "attic" effect. Another option for making the eyes are frayed buttons.
Step 5
Sew a dress for the doll. To make it, age the fabric. Use a material with a printed pattern in red, it fades especially well. Wash it at a high temperature with colored items. Sew a dress or sundress for the doll in a rustic style, decorate with peeling beads, embroider it with faded threads. Unplug the lace from old things, make several holes in it, and sew to the hem. You can sew a matching hat to the dress, deliberately make the margins of the headgear uneven, as if it sat down during washing. Put on the grubby.
