In a bandeau dress, you will be the queen of the party! It looks very elegant, beautiful and stylish. And you can sew it pretty quickly. Even if you haven't made patterns, modeled or sewn dresses before.
It is necessary
- - fabric (two lengths of the product);
- - threads (in the color of the fabric);
- -zipper - about 30cm (in the color of the fabric)
Instructions
Step 1
To draw up a pattern, you need to take the following measurements: back length to waist, shoulder length, neck semicircle, chest semicircle, chest semicircle, waist semicircle, hip semicircle.
Step 2
Prepare a pattern for a straight dress or blouse. If you are having difficulty in drawing up a pattern yourself, use the ready-made one. You can get it in fashion magazines or on the Internet. Transfer the pattern to tracing paper or plastic. Customize it according to your own standards. Don't forget that the bandeau dress should fit a little loosely. Add 1.5cm wide to measurements for a loose fit.
Step 3
Now the pattern of a regular dress needs to be modeled so that you get a bandeau dress. To do this, make it detachable. Cut along the waist line. On the front skirt, make one dart in the center of the panel about 3cm wide and about 20cm deep. On the upper part, at a height of about 25-27 cm from the cutting line, mark a point. Connect it to the outermost point of the armhole with a smooth, curved line. Place the dart with the tip up on the cutting line of the top of the front panel. Its width should be 3cm, depth - about 15cm. The tuck should be located strictly in the center. From above on a smooth line, also in the center, make another dart. Its width is 1-2cm, length is 5cm. Cut the pattern in two along the lines of the darts. This will be the front of your dress.
Step 4
Model the back canvas approximately in the same way. Cut along the waist line. On the skirt, dart in the center of the pattern. The width of the dart is 3cm, the depth is about 15-18cm. From the top of the dart, extend a line to the bottom of the part and cut along the dart lines in two. On the top of the pattern, draw a straight, parallel cut line. It should go through the extreme point of the armhole. On the cutting line, make a dart about 3cm wide and about 15cm deep. The dart should be pointed upwards. Cut the top into two along the dart lines.
Step 5
Additionally, you need to cut out strips of fabric for the bow. One strip should be 20cm wide and 80cm long. The second is 30cm wide and 60cm long.
Step 6
Start by sketching the dress. Especially if you are sewing from lightweight sliding fabric. First sweep the two sides of the top of the front panel. Be sure to first try the stitch on a small piece of fabric and adjust the thread tension. Sew. Then dart the front of the skirt. Connect the top and bottom of the front panel together.
Step 7
Collect the back sheet in a slightly different order. First connect the left top piece and the left bottom piece together. Then connect the right parts in the same way. Sew a zipper into the center seam of the back fabric. Its length depends on your desire, but not less than 30cm.
Step 8
Sew the bow details. Fold the blanks in half, stitch. Turn the parts right out. Iron the seams.
Step 9
Sew the side seams by stitching in the bow details. Finish the edges.
Step 10
Fold up the bottom. It can be either stitched off or simply glued with a special adhesive cloth and an iron.
Step 11
Finish the top of the dress. Use a tape if the fabric is thick enough. If the fabric is thin, it is better to trim the edge with a piping.
