It is necessary

  • - base for a candle (wax, paraffin);
  • - wick;
  • - candle mold;
  • - microwave oven or stove;
  • - black wax crayons;
  • - butter.

Instructions

Step 1

Paraffin or beeswax can be used as the main ingredient in a candle. Ordinary household candles are made from paraffin. Purchase several of these candles. If you have unused cinders, you can also put them into action. Chop them with a knife or grate them on a coarse grater, after removing the wick. Beeswax is easy to find in the honey market. Choose wax by color. White wax is of the highest quality.

Step 2

Prepare a mold for the future candle. It can be made from a plastic bottle, can, or syringe. The last two options are most preferable, since the plastic can deform under the influence of hot wax. If you chose a syringe as the shape, cut off the edge to which the needle is connected. Then pull out the plunger. The length of the candle will depend on the size of the syringe. In order to make a shape from a tin can, you need to cut it. You should have a flat sheet of tin. Roll a neat tube out of it. Lubricate the finished form with oil from the inside. This is necessary so that the finished candle can be easily separated from the mold.

Step 3

Make a wick. For it, you can use several threads, twisted into a bundle, or wicks from household candles.

Step 4

Melt the base. If you have a microwave, place a ceramic container with a base in it. Turn on the oven and wait for the base to heat up to a liquid state. In the absence of a microwave oven, the wax can be melted in a water bath. Place a metal container filled with water over the fire. Place a smaller container in it. It should contain a prepared candle base. After a while, the base will melt.

Step 5

In the liquid base, pour the previously prepared black wax crayons for painting. These can be purchased at the Kids Craft Store. Crayons are pre-crushed with a fine grater. Stir the hot base until the crayons are completely dissolved. You can also use eyeliner lead and food coloring as dye, but wax crayons work best for these purposes.

Step 6

Place the candle mold upright in a bowl of sand. Insert the wick into the mold and secure so that it is in the middle of the mold. Carefully pour the melted base into it. After the wax has cooled, the candle can be removed. Cut the free edge of the wick to the desired length and let the candle cool.
