A golden mustache, as well as live hair, homemade ginseng or a Far Eastern mustache, is popularly called fragrant callis, belonging to the commeline family. This plant, due to the content in it of a large amount of biologically active substances: beta-sitosterol, flavonoids, vitamins and minerals, helps to heal a wide variety of diseases, strengthens the immune system and stimulates metabolic processes in the body.
It is necessary
- - cuttings of a golden mustache;
- - nutritious soil;
- - expanded clay or gravel;
- - a pot.
Instructions
Step 1
Propagated by golden mustache cuttings. Cut them with a clean, sharp knife from a healthy plant and place them in the water. Soon, roots will appear on them, and after a week they can be planted in the soil.
Step 2
To plant a golden mustache, prepare a soil mixture of humus, turf and sand in equal proportions. Although the plant can grow well in ordinary garden soil, provided that it is regularly fed with complex fertilizers.
Step 3
Callisia does not like stagnant water, so pour a drainage from gravel or expanded clay 4-5 cm at the bottom of the pot, pour soil and lightly compact. Make a hole with a wooden stick and place the rooted stalk in it, press the ground and water abundantly. You can plant 2-3 seedlings in one pot.
Step 4
Another way to multiply fragrant callis is to plant cuttings directly in the ground. Cut the cuttings (they should have 3 knees), plant in the ground, water and cover with a glass jar. Ventilate periodically and remove condensation from the walls. After 3-4 days, the jar can be removed.
Step 5
Place the pot of gold mustache on a well-lit window. Sunlight should not be direct, since the beneficial properties of callisia evaporate under its influence.
Step 6
The plant grows quite large, up to one meter tall, so it needs a fairly large pot and a spacious place. Place a support under the stem.
Step 7
Subsequently, caring for the plant is reduced to regular watering. In summer, do this daily, and in winter, once every two to three weeks with settled water at room temperature. The earthy ball should not be overdried, but do not flood the plant either, as the roots of the golden mustache can rot and it will die.
Step 8
Loosen the soil periodically. Spray the plant and wipe the leaves with a damp cloth. Some growers recommend wiping them with milk. Repot the plant annually.
Step 9
Healing properties are possessed by an adult plant with leaves of at least 20 cm in length and geniculate shoots with rosettes. A variety of infusions, decoctions, ointments and oil are prepared from them.
