Instructions

Step 1

Draw on a piece of paper an approximate pattern that you want to depict on the kokoshnik. Place the ornament symmetrically from the central vertical line. Use motifs of flowers, leaves, trees, hops and grapes. This is what was usually depicted on this piece of toilet in the old days.

Step 2

Embroider the surface of the main part of the kokoshnik according to the sketch you made on paper. You can use different embroidery techniques and decorative elements, it all depends on the pattern you are going to depict. For example, you can embroider an ornament with a cross, satin stitch, stalk stitch. Also use beads for decoration, but do not try to fill the entire surface of the kokoshnik with them or bugles, in this case the dress will turn out to be very heavy and may not be able to keep its shape. Metallic floss embroidery will look very impressive. You can also use sequins and sequins to decorate your headdress.

Step 3

Use a decorative cord to frame your headdress. Sew it along the contour of the product with neat small stitches, hide the ends on the back of the kokoshnik.

Step 4

Weave a kokoshnik headdress from beads, it is a mesh that covers the forehead. Decorate the ends of this mesh with beads that are larger in size than the beads involved in weaving. Also sew several strands of beads or beads imitating pearls to the bottom of the sides of the kokoshnik, let them swing freely. Make sure that the lengths of these threads are approximately the same.

Step 5

Sew ribbons 15-20 cm wide to both sides of the kokoshnik. They will need to be tied into a wide bow at the level of the first vertebra. The ends of the bands should be long enough to fall freely below the shoulders. Choose a ribbon that matches the main fabric of the headpiece. The ends of the ribbons can be decorated with embroidery with threads or beads.
